People don't care as much about being green as they claim to.

"Do me a favor. In the next week, or even better, next month, watch your purchasing decisions. How often do you pay more for something that you perceive to be green?"
--Tom Szaky is co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of TerraCycle, Inc., producer of the worlds first products made from and packaged in waste.

Bottomline, don't environmentally-friendly products still have to compete on quality, price, etc? Eco-friendly seems to be just another feature. Don't you think?

That's very true. I tried finding an article specifically laying out "Why is it that most eco-friendly items cost more?" You'd think that something made from waste would certainly be much cheaper right?

My girlfriend and I were watching one of those "extreme makeover" shows where they can pick out a new wardrobe. There was a woman on there who only wanted to buy eco - friendly products. They were outrageously expensive, when they obviously cost less to make. I'd like to see some research done on this subject and laid out for the public to view. If you've seen anything let me know. ^_^

What I like about TerraCycle is that they found a way to make their stuff work better, cost less AND be environmentally conscious.

Yeah that's great, it's hard to find companies that are able to do that.
A lot of companies now are doing things to go green, it's fantastic, but sometimes I wonder how much of it is done to generate business, and how much because they actually care about the environment.
